‘…Black Heart (28:29), the album’s single extended improvisation—concise in structure yet constantly unfolding—feels like a drift through a universe that is as meta-musical as it is action-driven, in the best sense of the term.

Although the individual styles interweave and seem to emerge from one another, and each musician’s state of mind shifts from one sensitivity to another, there is a remarkable clarity within this polymorphic soundscape. The performers never shy away from pushing sound to its limits, even when the violinist tears through the music with a fierce, unrestrained energy. It is a playful yet tense exploration that continuously evolves—striking, scraping, or surprising the listener with unexpected moments of minimalist restraint.

One can easily imagine the audience drifting in reverie at a festival that might, for instance, program a “serious, austere spectralist” ensemble, a volcanic free-jazz trio, and an outrageous diva. Nothing celebrates diversity quite like this. This masterful improvisation is a testament to the artistry and ingenuity of these performers.’ (English translation)
